Experience In Photography was created in 2006, when I discovered that I could turn my lifelong passion for photography, into a profession.

I try to capture life as I see it.  In the simple innocence of a child, to the un-assuming presence of an animal.  Life is, as I see it through the lens of my camera.

My love for photography, and my eye for a good photo, make this an enjoyable job which I love and grow in more and more each day.  I learn on each shoot and truly love the experience of photography the more I do it.  This shows in my work.

Through experience I have found my passion to lie in photographing infants, toddlers and young children.  Being a daycare provider for the past 7 years probably has a little something to do with that. It takes an incredible amount of patience and the experience of knowing when that expression, the perfect expression, is coming! A child is not an easy subject to photograph successfully, but I find it the most rewarding!

There is nothing better to me than capturing the true spirit of each child.  To see his or her personality shine through in that instant to be captured forever. It is so much fun engaging the creative side with the use of props, light and nature to make the photo's special, and interesting.

This past year has been an exciting one for Experience In Photography as we've become associates with Northern Charm Studio in Ladysmith.  This recent blending of talents has made both Experience In Photography and Northern Charm Studio more versatile and much more available!  Best yet, I now have the capability of studio photography.  I love natural light and believe photographs are more true to life working in natural light, but studio sessions can take place regardless of weather, so I am very excited about this development.

Whether indoors in the studio, or outdoors - a session with Experience in Photography is not your typical department store photo shoot.  I rarely pose a child, but rather let the child be himself.  Photographs turn out so much better if the happiness is felt, not faked.  You can tell a canned smile from a smile brought on naturally. A typical session can run anywhere from one to three hours.   I don't believe in rushing it as I want you, your family or child to be comfortable.  It shows in my photographs.
